Castor Oil is a natural lubricant and safe to use on your lips. Most lip balms are made with petroleum based products (Petroleum is what gasoline, dry cleaning fluids and kerosene are derived from) like Petrolatum (petroleum jelly) and paraffin, which require artificial ingredients to mask the odors, and may also be harsh on sensitive skin.

Castor Oil Lip Balm Recipe

3 oz castor oil
1.5 cocoa butter
1.5 beeswax

Melt cocoa butter and beeswax in microwave. Add castor oil. Stir. Pour into containers. Cool before use.
